The Process

You may be wondering, how do these oils become a powerful foaming hand wash? Pure castile soap is made through an amazing process called saponification. Hang with me, I will make it very simple.
Saponification is the process where oils are melted down, and then carefully mixed with potassium hydroxide (otherwise known as “lye”). Once mixed, these oils begin a chemical reaction where they “saponify” and create the product we know and use daily: soap! Wild, I know.
I share this to ensure you that Tend + True soap is truly as pure as it says it is.
Once the pure castile soap recipe was born, I diligently researched the right trustworthy fragrances that would maintain the essence of my mission. I am happy to share the fragrances used in Tend + True are phthalate free.
